Hey there!
I’m Matheus de Mendonça — designer, researcher, and Indigenous person from the Xukuru do Ororubá people, born in the Sertão of Pernambuco, Brazil. I work across branding, graphic design, visual research, and type design, with a focus on creating solutions that balance narrative, context, and performance.
My experience ranges from global communication projects and events at tech companies like VTEX—where I contributed directly to visual systems for campaigns, brand activations, and Growth Marketing initiatives—to leading editorial and cultural projects within Indigenous territories, focused on education, autonomy, and social impact.
I’m used to working with multiple stakeholders, tight deadlines, and distributed teams, ensuring that design operates as a tool for connection and results, whether in institutional campaigns, brand awareness projects, or education-focused initiatives.
Currently based in Rio de Janeiro, I’m pursuing a Master’s degree at the Escola Superior de Desenho Industrial (ESDI/UERJ), where my research focuses on participatory methodologies for editorial production within Indigenous territories.
This portfolio presents projects that navigate brand, visual culture, and impact, bridging different scales—from corporate to community, from local to global.
